Your clients built
the perfect retirement plan. The plan still failed.

Fewer than 3 in 10 retirees will live out their lives in their own homes1 — despite a lifetime of planning to do exactly that.

Introducing LP5 Retirement Planning System from AgingOptions
The Failure of Traditional Planning

Documents aren't outcomes.

69%
of retirees over 65 will face incapacity1 that strips independence, drains assets, and burdens families
1 Johnson, Toohey & Wiener, Urban Institute, 2007
1
Plans are built in silos. The attorney drafts. The financial advisor invests. The insurance agent sells policies. Nobody coordinates.
2
Plans age out of reality. The documents were right for who the client was at 55 — not who they'll be at 80, when the plan actually matters.
3
Agents are left guessing. A binder full of legal documents doesn't tell an adult child what to do at 2 a.m. when a parent has just been hospitalized.
4
Housing, health, and family aren't legal questions — until they are. By then it's a crisis, not a plan.
Rajiv Nagaich
At 55, the goal is safety. By 80, it's happiness. Traditional plans get stuck at 55 — LP5 plans for the journey between. We weave that perspective into every decision, so the outcomes align with how clients actually want to live.
— Rajiv Nagaich, Founder
The LP5 System

Five pillars. One plan.

LP5 isn't a new document — it's a new practice. A coordinated client experience built around the five domains that actually determine how a retirement unfolds: together, in sequence, with the client and family in the room.
Health
Insurance gaps, long-term care exposure, provider coordination, advance directives that actually direct.
Housing
Aging in place, CCRC research, downsizing strategy, decisions made before a crisis forces them.
Finance
Drawdown strategy, Medicaid planning, asset positioning — coordinated with advisors, not siloed from them.
Legal
Documents drafted from a complete picture — not in isolation. Your work, built on a real foundation.
Family
A facilitated family meeting that aligns agents with the plan — before they have to use it.
The Result
Five pillars working as one system — an outcome-based plan your client can live by, and a firm upgrade you can grow by.

LifePlanning Workbook

Your client works through a personal workbook — health, housing, finance, legal, family — building their Roadmap one pillar at a time.

Susan — LifePlanner
Client

1-on-1 LifePlanner Session

A trained LifePlanner walks the Roadmap with your client over Zoom, surfaces gaps, and refines recommendations before legal work begins.

REC

Recorded Family Meeting

We facilitate a recorded family meeting that aligns your client's agents — adult children, healthcare proxies, financial agents — with the plan before they ever have to use it.

The Client Journey

How the work gets split.

All legal work, all legal advice, and the client relationship stay with you. AgingOptions provides only what sits outside the legal scope — education, coordination, family facilitation.

What changes isn't your role; it's your client's clarity about the outcomes their plan needs to deliver.

Frequently Asked Questions

The short answers to the questions you're probably asking.

You're already drafting documents. LP5 wraps a coordinated process around those documents — health, housing, finance, and family decisions — so the plan actually works when your client needs it most. Same legal work, different conversation.
No. The client stays your client. We provide the education and Roadmap review through our workshop. The legal work — and the client relationship — remains with you.
Less than you'd think. We carry the education and coordination — the most time-consuming part. You handle the framing up front, the drafting, and the sign-off. Most of it is work you'd already be doing for any thorough client — just with a real foundation underneath the legal work.
A structured program designed for practicing attorneys — delivered remotely so you don't have to leave your practice. Includes ongoing access to Rajiv and our team while you onboard your first clients.
Two ways. (1) Your own fees — partner attorneys typically charge several times what a basic estate plan would bring in. (2) Revenue share on consumer workshops, workbooks, and our future digital portal for any client you bring into the ecosystem.
Attorneys looking for a quick add-on, or a referral-only revenue stream. LP5 is a practice upgrade, not a side hustle — and it works best for attorneys who want to genuinely deliver better outcomes for their clients.
We're onboarding a limited cohort of attorneys in this first wave, and we're mindful of geographic concentration. The conversation about territory happens as part of the application.
A national network of attorneys delivering retirement planning the way it should be done — and shared revenue on the consumer products that fund the educational mission. Rajiv has spent 25+ years building this. We'd rather see it spread than be a Seattle secret.

About the Founder
Rajiv Nagaich
Founder, AgingOptions · Host of multiple public broadcast retirement specials

Rajiv entered elder law after watching firsthand how unprepared families become during a late-life health crisis — loved ones struggling through caregiving decisions, long-term care costs, and fragmented professional advice.

He built LP5 around three goals: help retirees avoid institutional care, avoid burdening loved ones, and avoid running out of money — by integrating legal, financial, housing, healthcare, and family planning into one coordinated strategy designed for the realities of aging.
